An mini two light studio set up ‘photo booth’ at a London wedding at Hackney’s Round Chapel made for a fun activity during the wedding reception and gave a less formal alternative to the official wedding photos.
Robin Guiver has done some really cool jobs over the years both ones you can see his face in and ones you cannot see him personally at all. From War Horse in the West End to Gravity with Sandra Bullock with a side order of Star Wars and Doctor Who. We wanted to emphasise his ability to play more serious, dare i say it ‘bad guy’, roles in this shoot.
Nina’s mother had a very clear idea of the sort of baby/toddler pictures she wanted taken of her daughter. I visited the family at home and we worked together to create a series of images that emulated all the inspirations, whilst letting Nina show her own character through too.
When Laura Horton was named Plymouth Laureate of Words lots of publications wanted to run her photo in articles and she didn’t have any professional shots. So next time she was in London I invited her over and we played with putting her in front of piles of books I had waiting to go back on some shelves to demonstrate her new role but also show her love of fashion (if you look at what a lot of the book spines tell you).
